How far will my money go in throughout Thailand?
Thailand is a great destination for budget-friendly backpacking holidays. Hotels are relatively cheap, and there are plenty of hostels and guesthouses available for those on a budget. Food is also very affordable; a meal in a local restaurant can cost as little as £2. Travelling around Thailand can also be done cheaply; buses are the most cost-effective way to get from place to place. With careful budgeting, £50 per day should be enough to cover accommodation, food, transport, and sightseeing.
For those who prefer a more luxurious holiday, a budget of £100 per day should be sufficient to cover all expenses, including stays in nicer hotels and indulging in some of the more expensive activities.

Avoid using your card as a deposit with car hire companies and hotels, or at automated fuel pumps and on cruise lines as this may temporarily reduce your available balance.
Check your transaction history regularly. Our app enables you to fully manage your account and stay in control of your spending at home and abroad. With our app you can set up alerts for each time a transaction is made and low balance alerts for when a currency is running low.
At ATMs, avoid multiple cash withdrawals to save on fees.
